About

I spent six years in prison for a crime I didn’t commit. I made parole in 2017 and the system finally let me out in 2019. I have two more years under supervision to go and I plan to journal my experience. My journey over these past six years has opened my eyes to the criminal justice system – it is appropriately named given the criminal behavior of those who run it .

I have met some great people inside prison, many who admit their guilt and struggle to improve themselves and many who are innocent and fight the system through the courts. Some are men and women who are employed by the prison system and treat inmates with respect and dignity. You might be surprised how rare that is.

I have also come into contact with some amazing people who volunteer their time, money and energy to help the incarcerated in any way that they can. These people elevate my confidence in human kind.

As I write about my journey, past and present, I will occasionally post a fictional short story. These are stories that I developed and wrote while in prison. Mostly however, I will share my experiences and those I met in prison. Please do subscribe and comment even if you have something critical to say.
